Grand Finale

How many days do you really celebrate in a year? Normally people use 10% or 5% of the days for vacation, but do we ever really take time to celebrate our actions? If so, what percentage is it?

Often, we aren’t even aware of where we are – so really we are lost. When lost, we fall prey to the states of delay, doubt, and confusion.  Reflection always improves clarity because it changes perspective.

A celebration is a confrontation, giving attention to the transcendent meaning of one’s actions. It is all about feeling proud of the actions performed and re-energize for the journey ahead.

A celebration is self-acknowledgment and recognition
for successfully completing every small step.

Grand Finale: Create a practice of taking a stock of all the projects you are working in hand and review the progress made in each one of them. During this time of stock-taking if we do realize we are not making progress on a project, we should pivot or cut the waste by not doing it. Combine this process with a celebration, so that you will be looking forward to doing this.

Cultivate a habit of doing this celebration periodically and call it your “Grand Finale”.

Doing it periodically at regular intervals will provide a timebox, which is a great way to measure your progress.

My recommendation would be to do this “Grand Finale” on a quarterly basis.

Perform the following things:

  1. Review the progress made towards each objective you had.
    • If things don’t go well, do a pivot or stop.
  2. Plan the objectives for the upcoming period.
  3. Celebrate within your means.
    • Do something memorable which can help to boost your energy and allows you to look forward in achieving the put forth objectives.
    • Feel proud of what you accomplished.
    • Be thankful for all who contributed to your objective.
