Life is a Gift
When the God Murugan wanted to test Avvaiyar, one of the greatest poets who lived during the 2nd century CE, he asked:
What is Rare?
Great Avvaiyar responded to that question through a poem in the Tamil language:
“அரியது கேட்கின் வரிவடி வேலோய்!
அரிதரிது மானிடர் ஆதல் அரிது
மானிடராயினும் கூன் குருடு செவிடு பேடு நீக்கிப் பிறத்தல் அரிது”
In the above verse, she explained
Being born as a human is rare/ In spite of that rare creation if the human is born with the features such as a straight spine, not blind, not deaf and not mute, is rarer than being just born.
We must visualize the things science explains to us. Billions of years ago, there was a BIG BANG!! From there, galaxies formed and within themselves, stars and planets were created. Planet Earth is so unique, in its size, distance from the sun, and overall composition, to support life, which took several millions of years to form.
On top of all these phenomena, various generations of evolution, from single-cell to multi-cell to animal forms, led to the rise of the human species.
Hypothetical question : – if the huge asteroid which struck the earth and killed the dinosaurs didn’t happen at all, what would have happened to the human race? Would the dinosaurs have eaten us all?
Humans are the only species with all the rare features, especially the ultimate sixth sense to think and achieve the dream life that they want.
With the power of the sixth sense in the last 100 years, we humans have come up with several innovations to overcome most of the disabilities our race faces today. With these empowerments, we are living in a time where everything is possible. We are able to prove to ourselves that humans are extremely special, beyond our imagination.
Close to nine million species living in this world and we the humans, are the only species gifted to have this miraculous power, sixth sense. In the world, total human population is nearing eight billion people, did you realize each one is unique. Each human being is a unique creation among trillions of living organisms in this world.
Our existence in this world is very rare. We should feel blessed for our mere existence.
Which brings us to a very important question, why are we given this opportunity to live with such a great gift?
What is expected out of each one of us?
There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.
