Introduction – Patterns & Practices
“You cannot change your FUTURE, but you can change your HABITS. And surely your HABITS will change your FUTURE.”
– APJ Abdul Kalam
The patterns and practices which are discussed in the forthcoming chapters are personally helpful to me and I can assure you, that the time you are going to invest in learning and practicing them will be worth it.
Even though the patterns and practices have a lot of potential, I want to emphasize the importance of the principles at a higher level. Understanding the principles to the core can help you to invest the needed time on what is important for you.
“What you want” is not “what you expect”
But your expectations associated with the actions you take will result in your life experiences!!!
To bring expectations close to your wants, it requires sacrifice, work, focus, and pivots as and when necessary.
The principles, patterns, and practices ahead will help you travel your journey gracefully.
The patterns and practices are organized into 5 categories:
- Prime Growth Patterns
- Time Machine
- Egg Hunt
- Dream Projector
- Desire to Destination: D2D marathon
- Watchdog Patterns
- Border Wall
- Carousel
- Smart Assistant
- Gauge and Grow
- Driver Patterns
- Books
- Quotes
- Motivational Pattern – Grand Finale
- Simplified Yogic Practices for the common man.
To practice the tools explained in this section all you need is a notebook, a pen and highlighters. You can also use a computer, but I recommend that you start with a notebook first. Once you master the patterns, you can opt for any device you like. When you write it down, it actually creates a different image in the brain which helps to solidify your thoughts in a better way. It has been proven that handwriting something leads to better success in learning.
